Born in Quebec City Canada, Alexis Vigneault began his artistic career as an acrobat, leading him to perform on six of the seven continents. Traveling and working in a shifting context brought him to a personal sense of what makes us unique and, more importantly, what we all share.
At the age of 20, he began to use photography and video as a means of self expression. His field of work lean toward portrait photography with strong influences from fashion and dance. His experience as a performer giving him the ability to precisely capture movement and rhythm through the camera.
In 2016, Alexis filmed, directed and produced the short film Exit which won first place at the River Film Festival in Italy as well as becoming a finalist at the Cineplay Film Awards in New York. Following that he created My Silent Circle and Devotion, two short films in portraiture of circus artists.
Starting with the desire to reach as large an audience as possible Alexis conceptualizes photography with an impactful style. In collaboration with other artists he continues to push the boundaries of his work, producing projects both complex and accessible.
